| SACRAMENTO - The Sacramento Fire Department is conducting their annual Swift Water Rescue Training course in the upper American River. The class is taught by Fire Fighters to new fire recruits and existing fire fighters. With the extremely high volumes of water in area reservoirs and large amounts of snow pack, it is anticipated that there will be a higher number of recreators and water hazards present this spring.
The Memorial weekend coming up kicks off the boating season and Fire Fighters are preparing now by honing skills they will have to use in just a few weeks. All media is invited to attend the water training at: White Water Excitement From Hwy 50 – Hwy 50 East toward Tahoe. Take 1st Shingle Springs/Ponderosa exit. Turn left over freeway. Turn right on North Shingle road. Go 4.5 miles to fork in the road (Lotus Rd.) go left. Go 8 miles to Hwy 49. Turn left. Go 1.7 miles to 6580 Hwy 49. |
