| SACRAMENTO - On Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 8:00 a.m., the Sacramento Fire Department will put into service Truck Company 30 at the North Natomas Fire Station. Fire Station 30 opened in June 2005, and has housed Engine and Medic 30, which have been providing service to the area of North Natomas. The addition of the Truck Company increases the amount of fire protection provided by the department and it elevates the level of staffing by four personnel at that fire station.
The addition of Truck 30 will bring the total number of trucks serving the City of Sacramento to nine. Truck Companies work in coordination with the Engine Companies (23) during fire ground operations. Trucks provide ladders, rescue equipment, and salvage equipment to the fire scene. They also carry the specialized hydraulic equipment for vehicle extrications. The addition of the Truck to the North Natomas Area is a resource that is expected to be of great value due to the continuous rapid growth in the area. |
