SACRAMENTO – At 12:02 a.m. the Sacramento Fire Department responded to reports of a commercial structure fire at Lee Auto Body located at 8551 Thys Ct. Fire companies arrived to find a long warehouse and reported flames coming out of the front office space at the far North end of the building. A second alarm assignment was immediately placed bringing additional companies to the incident.

The owner of the body shop arrived shortly after the fire was knocked down. He stated that he had been late and had just locked up about one and a half hours prior. The fire consumed the front office area of the building and extended into the main warehouse causing damage to tools and equipment. There were also seven vehicles inside the warehouse area that received only minor damage.

Sacramento Fire Department Investigators are currently going through the physical evidence on scene. The initial dollar loss to property and damage to the building is estimated at $200,000. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The response from the Sacramento Fire Department included three Engine Companies and three Truck Companies. A mutual aid response from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District included three Engine Companies and one medic unit. There were six additional command and support staff dispatched bringing the total number of Fire Fighters to 41.
