| SACRAMENTO - The 18th Annual Sacramento Fire Fighter Memorial will take place on Saturday morning. The memorial recognizes those Fire Fighters who have lost their lives within the last year and commemorates those who have lost their lives years prior.
The event will commence with the Fire Chief, Julius “Joe” Cherry, leading Fire Fighters from throughout the region to the historical site. The marching Fire Fighters begin at Sacramento Fire Station Five at 8th and Broadway at 9:30 a.m. and ends at the memorial site. The historic “Fireman’s Plot” in the Old City Cemetery is a place of rest for Fire Fighters from as early as 1850. The public and all media is invited to attend this event. |
