| SACRAMENTO - The Sacramento Fire Department has received a federal request as a state resource to send a 14 person water rescue crew to an area impacted by Hurricane Katrina. The water rescue task force is loading their gear at McClellan Business Park and will be arriving at Travis Air Force Base by 5:30 a.m. preparing for their aircraft departure.
The Sacramento Team is one of eight, fourteen person teams that will be departing this morning from California. All of the California Teams will be arriving in Louisiana and will be tying in with other federal assets and begin assisting local emergency resources as soon as possible.
