SACRAMENTO – On July 27th, the Sacramento Fire Department responded to a porch fire at a two story flat located at 1911 14th St. The home was occupied at the time of the fire but successfully evacuated and the flames were quickly knocked down by Engine Company 1. A female resident had told fire investigators that evening, she and her family had been threatened by her ex-boyfriend and believed that he had attempted to burn her house down.
Sacramento Fire Department Investigators have located the named suspect, Francisco Perez Cortez, a 27 year old male for questioning. During the interrogation, investigators were able to get a confession from Mr. Cortez about the setting of the fire. Mr. Cortez was also wanted on burglary charges and domestic violence. |
