| SACRAMENTO - Tonight, the Sacramento Regional Fire Academy will celebrate the successful completion and badge pinning of 10 lateral Fire Fighters. The ceremony marks the third group of lateral Fire Fighters to enter the Sacramento Fire Department. The Fire Fighters have transferred from various locations throughout the nation.
Lateral Fire Fighters are required to have at least 3 years of experience at a paid, professional fire department to be accepted. The group has completed a nine-week orientation to the emergency operations of the Sacramento Fire Department and will now begin to report to their assigned shifts in the field. The public and media is welcomed to attend our graduation and badge pinning ceremony |
