SACRAMENTO – On Saturday, July 23, 2005, the Sacramento Community will celebrate the grand opening of a new Fire House in Del Paso Heights. The new Fire Station will replace, and change the location of Fire Station 20 which has been located at the intersection of Del Paso and Arden Way for decades.

The ceremony and ribbon cutting event will be attended by Mayor Heather Fargo, City Manager Robert Thomas, Chief Julius “Joe” Cherry, and several other dignitaries from the Sacramento Area.

The new Del Paso Fire Station is 12,400 square feet and is equipped with state of the art amenities to accommodate the Engine, Truck, and Medic crews that will be working and living there.

The entire Community is invited to attend this event which will include a free barbecue, station tours, kid’s activities, and a fire apparatus display.
